The doubtful questions, answered plainly.
Including the ones where the honest answer costs us the sale.
The free scan
What it does, what it costs you, and what it touches.
What does the free scan actually do?
It reads your public pages the way an AI assistant does, and grades 11 checks: five that decide whether it can read your products at all, and six search basics. You get a score out of 100, every finding in plain English, and the fix beside each one. It takes about 45 seconds, sometimes 75.
Nothing is installed, nothing is written to your store, and no login is involved.
Do I have to give you an email address?
No. The results appear on screen with a lasting link to the full report, which is yours to keep and share. After the results you can ask us to email it, if that suits you better. That is the only reason we would ask.
Will it slow my store down?
The scan opens about thirty pages, spread over the run. That is lighter than one shopper browsing your shop. We follow the rules in your robots.txt, the file that tells automated visitors where they may go, and free scans are limited to one per store every 30 minutes.
Can I scan a store I do not own?
Yes, because everything we read is already public. It is a fair way to see what a competitor publishes. We do not tell the store it was scanned, and we do not publish results anywhere.
The score and the method
Every point and grading rule is published on the method page.
How is the score calculated?
Eleven checks, each worth a fixed number of points: 75 across the five AI checks, 25 across the six search basics. A Pass earns the full points, Needs work earns half, a Fail earns nothing. Add them up, and that is your score.
The method page works through an example, so you can check it with a calculator.
Why is assistant access worth 25 points and the page list only 4?
Because the points follow what stops an assistant first. If your store turns an assistant away at the door, nothing else you fix matters. A missing list of pages is a real problem, but a much smaller one. The points are published so you can argue with them, and they are the same for every store.
What does Inconclusive mean?
That we could not get an answer, usually because a page did not respond in time. We take that check out of the sum and scale the other points back up to 100, so a short outage cannot make your store look worse than it is. The report always names the checks we left out.
Can I compare my score to another shop?
No, and we would rather you did not try. The score measures your own store against a fixed list, and it is useful next to your own earlier scans. It is not a ranking, and beating a competitor's score does not mean an assistant prefers you.
AI visibility
The objections worth taking seriously, including the ones we agree with.
Is this just SEO with a new name?
It overlaps, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest. Tidy pages that load fast help both. The difference is what each one wants. Search wants a page it can rank. An assistant wants facts it can repeat. A page can rank well and still be useless to an assistant, because the price only appears once the page finishes loading, or the sizing sits inside a picture.
If your SEO agency already publishes full product details in a form software can read, and keeps the door open to assistants, you may score well without us. Run the free scan and find out. We would rather you did that than pay us to confirm it.
Can you promise I will appear in ChatGPT?
No. Nobody can, and anyone who says otherwise is selling a promise they cannot keep. These systems do not publish how they pick products, they change without notice, and the same question can get a different answer an hour later.
What we can do can be measured. We make sure assistants are allowed to reach your store, that your products show a price and stock they can read, and that your pages answer what shoppers ask. Then we check again and show you the difference. Being ready is the part you control.
Is llms.txt not a dead idea?
It is an idea, not a rule everyone follows, and doubt is fair. No big assistant has promised to read it, and we do not claim otherwise.
It carries 10 of the 100 points here for a practical reason. Writing llms.txt, a short summary file for AI tools, makes you say plainly what you sell, how it is grouped, and what your delivery and returns terms are. That is cheap to write and useful whoever reads it. If the idea dies, the points move, and this site will say so. It is never the main part of the work.
Why not just move to a hosted platform with a free AI plan?
Sometimes that is the right answer, and we will say so. If you are small, new, and want it handled for you, a big platform does a lot of this by default.
What you give up is control. Your products sit on their servers, on their terms and fees, for as long as you stay with them. If you have already built on WooCommerce and want to keep your data, your checkout and your margins, this work gets you read on your own terms. That is the whole idea: the least lock-in, not the most features.
How long do the fixes take to have an effect?
Your score changes the moment we run the checks again, because it measures your store, not an assistant. How quickly assistants notice depends on how often they come back, which they do not publish. We have seen days to weeks. Anyone giving you an exact date is guessing.
Paid plans
What you are buying, and when you should not buy it. Every plan is on pricing.
Do I need a developer?
For some fixes, yes. Opening the door to assistants, and writing the shop summary, are jobs a shop owner can do. Product details and page speed usually need someone who can edit your theme. Every finding says which kind of work it is, and the playbooks are written so you can do the owner-level ones yourself for free.
Do I have to buy the audit before implementation?
Yes, and not as a sales trick. Pricing the fixes without the audit means guessing at your theme, your product count, and what is already fine. The audit fee comes off the price of the fixes if you go ahead within 60 days.
Why is managed monitoring $99 when dashboards cost $19?
Because the $19 tools hand the report back to you. Managed means a person reads each month's re-check, writes what to do about it, and has time to fix things included, not billed by the hour. If your store rarely changes, self-serve at $29 is the honest answer, and we will tell you so. The comparison is on pricing.
What happens if the score does not move?
The re-check shows it, including the checks still failing and why. We do not bill for a fix that did not work, and the evidence pack reports what happened, not what we meant to happen. The sample report includes a check that got worse on purpose, because that is what the report looks like when something goes wrong.
Can I cancel monitoring?
Any time, from your account. Reports you already have stay available to download.
Data and trust
Who we are, what we keep, and why you should not simply take our word for it.
What happens to my data?
The scan reads pages that are already public, the way any automated visitor does. No login, no plugin, and nothing written to your store.
We keep the scan results, so later scans can be compared with them, and your email address only if you asked us to send a report. We do not sell or share either. Ask us to delete them and we will, scan history included.
Will my theme undo the work on its next update?
It can, and that is the honest case for monitoring rather than a one off. The audit names the fixes a theme or plugin update can undo. Monitoring is there to catch a passing check that starts failing, which is not rare on WooCommerce.
Who is behind this?
You have no customers yet. Why trust the reports?
Do not trust them. Check them. Every finding names something you can look at yourself in a browser, or with your developer. The points are published, and the sample report shows the whole thing on a made-up store. When there are real results to show, they will appear with dates and method, and not before.
Still not convinced? Run the scan.
It is free, it takes about 45 seconds, and it tells you whether any of this applies to your store.
Store address only. No email, no card.
